Anne and Sam Klein Jewish Coalition for Literacy
The award-winning Anne and Sam Klein Jewish Coalition for Literacy, initiated by the JCRC, is a reading partner program to help public elementary school children improve their reading skills. Reading partners provide the gift of reading in more than 50 public elementary schools, helping 3,700 students from Jupiter to Boynton Beach.
Since, 1998, the Anne & Sam Klein Jewish Coalition for Literacy, part of Federation’s Jewish Community Relations Council, has helped public elementary school students in local elementary schools improve their reading scores. Volunteer Reading Partners – aged 18 and older – are trained by a professional reading specialist, learning strategies to help children learn to read.
Reading Partners are required to volunteer at least one hour per week to help improve the reading skills of students from kindergarten to fifth grade. Men and women of all ethnic groups are encouraged to participate. Contact Sheri Siegal at 561-242-6694 or email to become a Reading Partner.
