Federation’s local partner agency – Alpert Jewish Family & Children’s Service – is being recognized on a national level.
AJFCS AmeriCorps joined 15 other programs from across the country at the the 2015 annual AmeriCorps Conference in San Diego, CA. AmeriCorps is a civil society program supported by the US government and other donors, with a mission of engaging adults in intensive community service work to meet the critical needs of their community. AJFCS facilitates an AmeriCorps program in our area.
Nancy Frent, a staff member of AmeriCorps at AJFCS (based in West Palm Beach) was honored with an award for her outstanding research and evaluation efforts. In addition, AJFCS was recognized for having an exemplary pre-service training structure.
Frent was joined by fellow AJFCS AmeriCorps staff Doni Greenblatt and Enjoli Skeen at the conference.
Through the AmeriCorps program, AJFCS workers are encouraging young adults to become involved with community service projects. Since the program was founded in 1994, workers have contributed more than 1.2 billion hours in service across America while tackling pressing problems and mobilizing millions of volunteers for the organizations they serve.
