Amy Jonas presented with Temple Israel's highest honor


Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County congratulates one of our most dedicated volunteers for receiving a prestigious award in the community.

Amy Jonas was presented with Temple Israel’s highest honor, the Avodah Award, during Shabbat services on Friday, April 24.

A member of Temple Israel and local resident for nearly 30 years, Jonas is a valued leader to both the synagogue and the Jewish community.

Jonas has served in many Women’s Philanthropy leadership roles with Federation, including President and Campaign Chair. She was also Federation’s first Lion of Judah Endowment Chair.

In 2014, Jonas was honored wtih the Kipnis-Wilson/Friedland award at the International Lion of Judah Conference in New York. This annual award honors women who have set a high standard for philanthropy and volunteerism.

At Temple Israel, Mrs. Jonas is a member of the Board of Trustees, where she has taken on the role as Membership co-Chair. Her commitment to innovating community programs and events has helped grow Temple Israel's membership and encouraged increased participation.
