May is Jewish American Heritage Month

Jews have been contributing the American culture for hundreds of years. Jewish American Heritage Month (JAHM) acknowledges the achievements of American Jews in fields as diverse as sports, arts and entertainment, medicine, business, science, government and military service.

This year, the theme is Jews in entertainment, honoring those who have woven the fabric of American history, culture and society, like Jewish comedians Fanny Brice, Sarah Silverman and Joan Rivers; Magician Harry Houdini; Composer George Gershwin; Songwriter Irving Berlin, Singer Sophie Tucker; Master Clown Lou Jacobs; Recording Artist and Actress Barbra Streisand; and Actor Groucho Marks.
