Meet the Winners of the 2012 Robert S. & Ceil N. Levy Young Leadership Award!
Shaina Rappoport and Andrew R. Comiter were this year's recipients of the Robert S. & Ceil N. Levy Young Leadership Awards, which are presented annually at Federation's Annual Meeting. This award was made possible through the generosity of its namesakes -- members of Federation's Pillars Society -- through their Philanthropic Fund.
Rappoport has an impressive history of long-term Jewish engagement. She created Jacob's Park, an accessible playground for all children as a memorial tribute to her son Jacob at the Lore & Eric F. Ross JCC in Boynton Beach, where she recently served as Operations Committee Chair. Rappoport is president of The Jacob Isaac Rappoport Foundation, which raises money to find a cure for Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA), strives to increase awareness of the disease and supports affected families.
Comiter, a memner of the Florida Bar's Tax Law; Real Estate, Probate & Trust Law; and Business Law sections, is an associate at Comiter, Singer, Baseman & Braun. He is the chairperson of the Emerging Leadership Project, a collaboration between Federation's Campaign department and the Mandel Center for Excellence in Leadership, serves on the Board of Directors of the Jewish Federation of Palm Berach County and is a participant in Federaton's Partnership 2Gether Jewish Peoplehood Task Force. Comiter also serves on the Arthur I. Meyer Jewish Academy Board of Trustees.
