Local congressman leads major effort to combat anti-Semitism
Congressman Patrick Murphy, D-Fla of the 18th district, is leading a coalition of more than 80 members of Congress from both sides of the aisle in calling on the United Nations (UN) to take decisive action against the global surge in anti-Semitism.
On December 10, Congressman Murphy spoke on the House floor about this major bipartisan effort and the urgent need for the UN to join the United States in condemning anti-Semitism and combating such hateful demonstrations wherever they occur. Rep. Murphy urged the UN to encourage Member States to take action against anti-Semitism in their own countries.
At 3:23 in the above video, Congressman Murphy mentions his cooperation with Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC), the advocacy arm of Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County.
Murphy mentions the anti-Semitism forum organized by JCRC, which brought 350 people together to hear from experts' viewpoints on reports of escalating anti-Semitism around the world. Rep. Murphy spoke at that event.
In addition, on Thursday, December 18, JCRC and AIPAC will be holding a breakfast and briefing on the Iran nuclear situation, featuring Rep. Murphy and others. Click here to learn more about attending.
