We Are Ensuring a Safe, Vibrant Jewish Community
The recent security situations at centers of Jewish life across the United States reinforce our commitment to ensuring a safe, vibrant Jewish community.
We wanted to share with you how – at all times – the safety and security of Jewish community members and institutions are our foremost priority:
- Federation works closely with local and national security experts and law enforcement, who provide the highest level of preparation, training and resources for our partner agencies and synagogues.
- We convene ongoing security briefings to ensure rigorous procedures and protocols for physical and information technology security for our partner agencies and synagogues.
- We receive regular consultation and resources from the Secure Community Network, the Jewish community’s leading national security agency, as well as the newly formed National Security Advisory Council, led by a former high-ranking official with the Department of Homeland Security.
- Federation and our partner agencies are constantly evaluating security protocols and procedures, in the unlikely event of a security situation. Throughout the recent situation in our local community, security protocols were soundly executed.
“The Jewish community is all too familiar with attacks motivated by prejudice and hatred," said Michael Lampert, Chair of Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County’s Safety & Security Committee. "We see it as our role to ensure security resources for the Jewish community in partnership with law enforcement and Jewish community institutions.”
Michael Hoffman, Federation President & CEO, was recently a guest on WLRN’s Florida Roundup, to discuss how we are keeping our community safe. Listen to the interview here:
