Former campers reconnect for Saturday Night @ the J

Nearly 200 people gathered at the Mandel JCC in Palm Beach Gardens for Saturday Night @ the J, a lively event featuring an energetic dueling piano show.

Held on April 25, the event raised $16,500 for the Mandel JCC’s Summer Camp Wish List, an expansive list featuring more than 100 toys, games and much-needed supplies for the JCC’s popular day camp, Camp Shalom.

The event marked 50 years of Camp Shalom – which offers day camp, specialy camps and a traveling program at both Mandel JCC locations. The camp welcomes more than 500 children each summer.

Patti and Tony Lampert and Lissa and Benjamin Schwab chaired the event.

“What a successful, fun night! The high energy...mixed with the excitement from hundreds of guests who are Camp Shalom alumni, parents of children who attend the camp or supporters of the JCC, created an incredibly memorable evening.” said co-chair Patti Lampert.

Camp Shalom will run from June 8, 2015 through August 14, 2015 and is open to children ages two years old through 10th grade.

Campers can take advantage of a full aquatics center, regulation size sports fields, a nature preserve, a gymnastics studio, as well as expansive spaces for art, cooking, drama, music and dance.
