The Annual Leadership Education Forum (ALEF), hosted by American Friends of The Hebrew University (AFHU) brings together Hebrew University experts and other leading individuals to discuss a spectrum of vital issues.
American Friends of The Hebrew University will present its Annual Leadership Education Forum (ALEF) on Sunday, January 20, 2013, 8:00am - 2:30pm, at The Four Seasons Hotel in Palm Beach.
“Forging New Frontiers, Transcending New Challenges,” will include breakfast and lunch, as well as a stimulating program. Morning keynote speaker, Ambassador Ron Prosor, Israel’s Permanent Representative to the United Nations, will speak about The Jewish State on the Global Stage: A View from Israel’s Ambassador to the United Nations. Luncheon keynote speaker, Dr. Richard Haass, President, Council on Foreign Relations, will speak about President Obama’s Second Term: National Security Challenges.
A political panel which will discuss: The Changing Face of Middle East Politics: The American and Israeli Perspective. Speakers include: Ambassador Efraim Halevy, Former Chief of the Mossad (Israel’s Intelligence Agency) and former head of the Shasha Institute at The Federmann School of Public Policy and Government at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem; General Michael Hayden, Former Director of the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA); Ambassador Stuart A. Bernstein, Former United States Ambassador to the Kingdom of Denmark.
A brain science panel will discuss Interpreting Personal Reality from the Brain’s Electrical Activity and Addiction: From Molecules to Brain Circuits. Speakers include: Professor Eilon Vaadia, Director of the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem; Dr. Ami Citri, an outstanding young researcher at the Edmond and Lily Safra Center for Brain Sciences at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem.
Professor Menahem Ben-Sasson, President of The Hebrew University of Jerusalem, will provide special remarks.
