Yom Ha'Atzmaut On The Beach
Temple Beth Am members and friends of all ages gathered to welcome Shabbat and celebrate Israel's independence on Friday, April 27.
Special guests included a delegation from the Palm Beach-Tzahar Partnership Program, who were welcomed by temple president Bruce Cohen.
Rabbi Alon Levkovitz and Cantor Tanya Greenblatt led attendees in prayer and song, followed by an Israel-inspired barbeque. Among the activities that were available for children: building Jersusalem in the sand and playing beach games.
The festivities continued on Sunday, when Temple Beth Am Religious School students made birthday cards for Israel and wrote messages for their (model) Kotel-Western Wall.
