Advocating Against Cuts Vital to the Elderly and the Needy
As a result of the current national deficit and the need to reduce the Federal budget, some of the Federal programs that benefit Jewish constituencies and local Jewish agencies may be cut or reduced.
JCRC will work along with the Jewish Federations of North America (JFNA) to make sure those services that are vital to our elderly and needy populations are not eliminated or reduced. An advocacy plan will be developed for this year in coordination with JFNA.
Likewise, at the state level more cuts are expected to take place. Just as last year, also this year JCRC will continue to advocate against state cuts.
A breakfast meeting with Florida legislators to educate them about issues of importance to the Jewish community will take place in January and a mission to Tallahassee during session will be considered.
