QUESTIONS & ANSWERS:

Q: I recently participated in a Daycare or Mommy & Me program at a Jewish preschool. Will my child still be eligible for this incentive program?
A: Yes, a child who has at any time participated in a daycare/babysitting, Mommy & Me program or class, or summer camp program at a Jewish Early Childhood Program or class center or institution is still eligible to participate in Jewish Right Start.

Q: I have two children who are not twins attending a Jewish Early Childhood Center for the first time. Are they both eligible for their own incentive?
A: No. Siblings from the SAME household entering a Jewish Preschool for the first time will only be awarded ONE incentive.

Q: How do I apply for twins or multiples?
A: Due to limited funding, we are only able to offer one grant per family, therefore, multiples will be processed as one application.

Q: Is this incentive program based on my financial situation?
A: Jewish Right Start is not a need-based program, but an incentive for families to engage in the Jewish community through early childhood education programs. The funds are limited and awarded on a first-come, first-served basis as applications are received and approved. Most funds are expended during the spring, but applications will be accepted through June 1. NO applications will be accepted after that date.

Q: What determines the amount of the incentive given?
A: Incentive amounts are based upon the # of days a child is enrolled in a preschool program as follows:
$1,500* for a child who attends 5 days per week (full time)
$1,000* for a child who attends 3 days per week (full time)
$700* for a child who attends 2 days per week (full time)

For 2017-18 school year, includes matching grant from the National Jewish Right Start Program.

Q: How will I get my incentive grant?
A: After three months of enrollment, eligible families will receive the incentive grant in the form of a tuition credit from the preschool in which their child is enrolled.

Q: What schools are participating in this program?
A: The following:
