Meet Nicole, camp scholarship recipient
It’s not only important for Nicole and Dave Kornblum that their three children (Josh, Evan and Talia) stay close to Jewish life – it’s a responsibility.
Nicole, the granddaughter of a Holocaust survivor, wanted to ensure her children understood the significance of being a Jew through an immersive experience like Jewish overnight camp. However, sending three kids to a summer camp can be an expensive endeavor that would have held her family back. That’s when she and her husband reached out to Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County.
“Without Federation, we couldn’t have done it,” Nicole said. “The scholarship allowed us to send our kids to camp. Now they teach us the prayers, songs and celebrations. They understand what it means to be a Jew. ”
