Jewish Women's Foundation
JWF: Make the Connection
The Jewish Women’s Foundation (JWF) is a fund for social change of the Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County and is dedicated to improving the lives of women and girls through social change grant-making.
JWF provides an opportunity for women to leverage leadership and financial resources to make a direct difference in the lives of Jewish women and girls whose vital needs are often overlooked by other philanthropic organizations. It is the JWF belief that investing its influence and resources in social change will make a difference in the lives of woman and girls locally, nationally and internationally in ways that are consistent with the Jewish value of tikkun olam (repair of the world), and that the long-term outcome of its work will result in changes in community practices and programming, public policy, Jewish education and practice, laws and the practice of philanthropy.
The JWF is open to all Jewish women in the greater Palm Beaches and operates in a distinctive model that allows Trustees to decide on what is funded and the egalitarian manner in which philanthropic business is conducted. The JWF funds four approaches to social change:
- Increasing public awareness of issues that directly and adversely affect the lives of women;
- Research that identifies and examines the impact of issues on the lives of women and girls;
- Leading-edge initiatives designed to change attitudes, behavior and practices of individuals and systems; and
- Advocacy for changes in institution or community practices, social policy and the law.
Grant applications are accepted from qualifying non-profit organizations seeking funding for programs that are designed to challenge and overcome the social, economic, political and legal inequities faced by Jewish women and girls around the world. Connect to the Jewish world and the critical issues that concern Jewish women. Connect to the future, a vision of collective responsibility for Jewish women and girls from all economic backgrounds.
